Holbein

Form cut pigment prints on self adhesive vinyl.  Measurements from 280 x13 cm to 330×16 cm   2011-2012

Eight photographs of skulls of a “consumer” type, produced for decoration, games, toys etc were stretched to resemble the anamorphic skull in the 16th century painting “The Ambassadors” by Hans Holbein. They are installed diagonally on the walls, sometimes around corners, onto the ceiling or the floor. The skull form can be seen by looking along the print from the side.  When the skulls become normal, the architecture is distorted.
