Installation at 111- Ein Zeitgenössischer Ort für Kunst, Berlin, 2011
Mdf, coloured vinyl foil, loudspeakers, sound.
Gaps, holes and openings in the walls were closed with mdf plates. The plates were cut precisely to fit the outlines of the holes and covered with a high gloss vinyl foil to resemble car paint. Each plate had a loudspeaker in the middle that emitted the sound of a car or other vehicle.
The car sounds in the basement rooms came from static cars, and the sounds on the main floor from cars moving slowly around. All the sounds were different, so changes in melody and rhythm were experienced when moving between rooms.
